El Salvador • 6 day Football War ensued after intense rioting between fans • 1981 – CONCACAF Champions • CONCACAF is the North American Region for football

  3. 2010 FIFA World Cup • In 3rd qualifying round, Honduras came in first over Mexico, Jamaica, and Canada • Honduras has made it to the fourth qualifying round, FIFA Ranking = 39 • Top 3 (out of 6) from this round will qualify for the World Cup! • Up against U.S.A. and Mexico (FIFA ranking 20 and 24 respectively), as well as Costa Rica, El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago • In previous qualifying games, Honduras has beaten Mexico once but lost to Costa Rica (FIFA ranking 38)

  4. 2010 FIFA World Cup • Currently sit tied for last with Mexico, but have 9 more games to play, including 5 home games • Will play El Salvador (FIFA ranking 107) on June 10 in San Pedro Sula (we’ll be there!)
