Role of NIA at Each Stage of ICT Development NIA established to audit the National Basic Information System(NBIS) project implemented in the 1980s Developed technology standard needed for interconnecting the NBIS Computerization (’87~’94) Established the Basic Plan on Informatization Promotion, the first pan-government mid-to-long term master plan Implemented the High Speed Information Network project in 3 stages from 1995 to2005 Informatization (’95~’02) Implemented various advanced e-government projects such as the government information data center(NCIA) and online government work processing system Implemented various ubiquitous projects such as u-City utilizing RFID/USN technology Electronic (’03~’07) Convergence (’08~’12) Integrated e-government services using EA and standard framework Supported the resolving of digital dysfunction such as privacy protection Currently operating the Public Data Utilization Support Center to promote creative use Currently operating the Big Data Analytics Utilization Center to support development of future national development strategy Creativity (’13~Present)
