DESKRIPSI MATA KULIAH Mata kuliah ini memberikan pemahaman konsep wireless network, manfaat dan aplikasi pada wireless network, komponen-komponen yang dibutuhkan untuk pemanfaat wireless network pada home office, kampus, metropolitan area network dan regional area network. Serta konsep keamanan yang bisa diterapkan pada wireless network. STANDAR KOMPETENSI Mahasiswa mampu memahami dan mengerti tentang konsep wireless network serta mampu merancang dan meng-aplikasikan teknologi wireless. Introduction to Wireless - Wireless LANs transmit using radiofrequencies. -Wireless LANs are regulated by the same types of laws used to govern such things as AM/FM radios. - The Federal Communications Commission(FCC) regulates the use of wireless LAN devices Wireless LAN standard : IEEE : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is an organization within IEEE that develops global standards in a broad range of industries, including: power and energy, biomedical and health care, information technology, telecommunication, transportation, nanotechnology, information assurance, and many more. IEEE-SA has developed standards for over a century, through a program that offers balance, openness, fair procedures, and consensus. Technical experts from all over the world participate in the development of IEEE standards.[1] IEEE-SA is not a body formally authorized by any government, but rather a community.
