For your consideration… • Greg Redder is scheduled to present a wireless update at the November 29th UTFAB meeting • In order to get the following projects in the pipeline for completion over Winter Break, we would like to bring these proposals to your attention for legitimacy votes tonight.
Lory Student Center • Replace all existing APs inside LSC with new Aruba APs and increase coverage on the north end as that part is not being remodeled. • The LSC project will fund any additional APs needed after the remodel. • LSC has funded an upgrade to their backbone connection (dual 1Gb links) to support additional bandwidth for wireless
Lory Student Center - Budget • 23 Arubas Access Points: $18,400 • Each Cisco AP replaced 1 for 1 @ $800/unit • 10 Aruba APs – Transit Center: $ 8,000 • Installation of Access Points: $ 800 • @ $23/unit • Subtotal: $27,200 • Plus 10% unforeseen: $ 2,720 • TOTAL: $29,920
Weber • Weber has seven old access points now – coverage is insufficient • 14 Aruba APs: $11,200 • @ $800/unit • Installation: $ 400 • Total: $11,600
