What are virtual tours? • Virtual Tours (VT) are an inexpensive way to experience numerous aspects of the “world” without actually being there • VT planning does take time, but a VT can be used in segments, in it’s entirety, utilized in the future and/or edited as necessary to meet other needs • Article: “Grounded” from Edutopia, 10/05

  7. How is an educational tour designed? • You may use a variety of tools to create your tour, including but not limited to: • PowerPoint ●Keynote • Windows Movie Maker ● iMovie/iDVD • Audacity • Photo Story 3 • Nvu or KompoZer • Photoshop

How is an educational tour designed? • No one tool is "better" than another • Use what works best for your tour design and audience needs • Possible media: still photos, panoramic photos, 360 photos, movie clips, audio clips and/or voice over, links to related online sites, scanned items (i.e. maps, news articles, brochures, etc.), slide show, etc.
