  2. What is the Civil Government? • Headed by a chosen civilian • Political power is given to a civilian • The leader is called the civil governor

  3. Why was it established? • To make people have their rights • So the people can do things without being forced.

  4. What are the strenghts? • There is peace and order because there is a leader that keeps them in order • The executive power goes to the leader • The people don’t have to do things by force

  5. What are the weaknesses? • The leader might get corrupt because he/she is not used to so much power • The country needs its own a constitution for guidance

  6. What are some sample countries? • Philippines during Taft’s regime- William Howard Taft • Puerto Rico during WW2 – Major General George Whitefield Davis • Ryuku islands from Japan during WW2 – General Mark Wayne Clark

  7. What is the military government? • All the power goes to a chosen member of the military • The leader is called a Military Governor

  8. Why was it made? • To restore peace and order to the country during or after war.

  9. What are the advantages? • There is peace because the people are under a military officer. • There is order because there are laws implemented • The government can protect the people who do good to the people

What are the disadvatages? • The leader has a big chance to get corrupt because all the power is given to him. • The government might lose the support of the poeple because he might treat them unfairly. • The people are living in fear because the government might make them things that they dont want to do

  11. What are the sample countries? • Cuba during WW2- General Valeranio Weyler • Puerto Rico during WW2–General Nelson Miles • Philippines during WW2 – General Wesley Merritt
