  10. Service for the Nation A cohesive society in the One Planet World “Job losses are expected to be dominated by males, while a large proportion of job gains will go to females. Some 60% of all job gains are expected to be part-time and the bulk of such jobs are expected to be in hotels and catering, business and other services. In terms of job losses the bulk are expected to come in elementary trades, process operatives, skilled metal and construction trades. Major gains are projected in caring and health, teaching and administrative and clerical occupations” NW FRESA 2002

Can Rotary survive & prosper? • Only by going back to its roots as a professional development organisation. • Only by being proactive on our Global ‘Addiction’ – the hugely profligate use of energy and other resources. • Only by enabling One planet Living on the only world we have. • Only by leading by example.

  13. Threat or opportunity? Opportunity, because – although a change in the way we live our lives is required: • Our Grandchildren's future will be more secure • The development of low carbon technologies will be accelerated.
