  2. Where Marco Polo Lived! Venice, Italy Marco Lived in Venice Italy.

Why was Marco Polo was famous? • He was an explorer who traveled to China when he was only 17 in 1271. • Marco was known as the man who introduced Europe to Asia/Asian cultures. • Marco Polo wrote a book about what he saw in china. This book became very popular and was translated into many different languages. This is the route that Marco took to get to China

  4. Interesting Facts!!! • Marco was buried in the church of San Lorenzo. • His journey was the inspiration to Columbus and many other explorers. • He lived to the age of 70. • In order to get to China Marco took the path of the silk road. • After Marco returned from China he wrote a book which was translated into many languages.

  5. If Marco was alive…….. He would be interested by a GPS system. Marco would be fascinated by this because he was an explorer. When Marco was alive he had to rely on maps and compasses to travel. If they would have had this when Marco was alive it would have not took as long as it did to get back and forth to china.
