  2. Nasceu em Catete, perto de Luanda em Angola, em 1922.

  3. Estudou até ao ciclo secundário em Angola, depois veio para Portugal e licenciou-se em Medicina pela Universidade de Coimbra e mais tarde em Lisboa.

  4. Em Portugal, sempre esteve ligado à actividade política, onde deu origem à revista Momento, em 1950.

  5. Como aconteceu a outros escritores africanos, foi preso e voltou para Cabo Verde, tendo mais tarde conseguido a fuga para o continente.

  6. Foi o primeiro presidente de Angola. Em 1979, Agostinho Neto morre em Moscovo. Fotografia de José Eduardo dos Santos, actual Presidente de Angola
