  3. Our History • 1993: First funded by CSAT • 1998: 13 Regional Centers and a National Office • 2002 Network: 14 Regional Centers and a National Office serve all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and the Pacific Trust Territories

Why We Were Founded • 1993: To provide the country with adequately trained substance abuse counselors • 1998: To enhance the knowledge and skills of all health professional • 2002: To develop substance abuse treatment and recovery curricula and provide education and professional development opportunities to the field

  5. Our Purpose • To translate and communicate science to change treatment services • To ensure excellent care for all people with substance use disorders
