  30. SIMS End of Academic Year 2014Year 11 Leavers Leavers Year 11 “As stated in previous years, schools are advised to insert the 27th June 2014 leaving date in September when the school has confirmation that the student is not returning. This process should continue. Obviously there is the issue of what absence code to use between 28th June and the end of term. From the theDfE Absence and Attendance Codes guidance January 2009 please find below an extract taken from page relating to 'X' code, which states that: Under the 2006 Pupil Registration regulations, schools cannot delete Year 11 pupils who intend to remain at the school and enter the Sixth Form (Year 12) from the school registers. Once the pupils have reached the end of their compulsory school-age, which is on the last Friday in June, they can be recorded using this code if the school has not asked them to attend. Using the 'X' code in this way allows the student to stay on roll until the school has confirmation that they have left. “

  37. SIMS SOLUS3 Why is it being upgraded? updates can be easily scheduled allowing you to control when you want the upgrade the entire SIMS system can be upgraded without end-user SIMS user involvement SIMS client software can be installed remotely, reducing the need for a workstation visit the potential for local authorities to manage SIMS updates remotely for their supported schools

  38. SIMS Solus3 When will this happen? The team will be receiving training on the deployment during July. We will be able to answer more questions about the implementation after this date SOLUS2 is currently available until Autumn 2015 upgrade

  39. SIMS Seminar June 2014 FirstClass Housekeeping

  40. FirstClass Housekeeping The FirstClass database will shortly be transferred to a new data centre. In order to achieve this transfer the size of the database needs to be reduced Over recent weeks the number of user accounts have been reduced in an effort to bring the database down to the required size But we are not quite there yet!

  41. FirstClass Housekeeping So…….. Can all schools please look at the information and conferences, calendars, folders etc. currently stored on FirstClass and let us know which can be removed. Do not remove the conferences yourself as in most cases the icon you see will only be a link to a centrally held container……just give us a list and we will do the rest.
