  3. Vision Our Vision is to be a recognized Student Affairs organization delivering innovative student services to the East Bay and global University communities and preparing leaders who contribute to a diverse and global society.

  5. Key University Strategic Mandate for Student Affairs • Create “vibrant university villages.” • Promote “an inclusive campus climate that values students, faculty and staff, and fosters multicultural learning and competence.”

  7. Goal #1 • To secure and utilize fiscal, physical, human and technological resources to ensure operational integrity and accountability to enhance services delivery.

  8. Goal #2 • To improve student retention, graduation and academic success and expand access and opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.

  9. Goal #3 • To cultivate a vibrant campus community that is welcoming, inclusive, respectful, and responsive to the unique needs of all community members.

  10. Goal #4 • To create and sustain a healthy, civil, and safe campus community.

  11. Goal #5 • To provide co-curricular services and programs to enhance student learning and leadership and professional and personal development.

Goal 1: Operational Integrity /AccountabilityObjectives All units conduct customer satisfaction surveys • Create task force to assess future service needs • Establish online student support services • Create alt media lab and ADA Web sites • Complete student affairs management system • Develop marketing plan for SA • Establish Professional Development Plan for SA

Goal 2: Enhance Student Success and Access Objectives Assist with outreach activities and monitor retention, graduation and persistence • Reduce probation rates for undeclared students • Increase appointment times in UAC (SLO) • Coordinate outreach to underserved communities. • Expand tutoring in SCAA • Provide year round orientations for freshmen, transfers and parents

Goal 3: Create a Vibrant Campus Community Objectives Increase student housing and 24/7 activities and expand multicultural and diversity programs • Work with ASI to expand major campus activities • Explore with AA creation of a “campus hour” • Construct Phase III Housing • Consult with students for Division II Athletics • Expand programming by SHS, CaPS, H & RL, SLLP, and SDRC

Goal 4: A Healthy and Safe Campus CommunityObjectives Provide services to create a healthy, civil and safe campus and reduce student participation in negative behaviors • Provide prevention programming to students • Support ASI in constructing Rec/Wellness Center • Expand Health promotions programs • Expand Community Policing

Goal 5: Co-Curricular Services that Enhance Student Learning, Leadership and Development Objectives Plan co-curricular services that emphasize student learning and measure student learning outcomes • Develop division-wide Student Leadership Program with on-line leadership training component. • Develop and implement a Student Career Success Report for CSUEB graduates • Work with ASI to develop student/faculty engagement programs

Student Affairs Priority Objectives 2007-2008 • Create Task Force to assess future student support needs • Student Leadership programming for each unit • Develop On-line student services • Enhance campus activities in support of a global university/vibrant university village • Expanded ASI programming • College Hour • Expand SA Staff Professional Development • Develop/Assess student learning outcomes

Student Affairs: Vital to CSUEB’s Bold New Vision • As enrollment expands, more resources will be needed to provide services to meet the Student Affairs objectives. • Student Affairs plays a vital role in the University’s bold move towards increased enrollment, diversity and student success. • Student Affairs is poised to help ensure the success of our President’s bold vision for the future of the University.
