Then share with you the history behind OMH. Jeanne Ward, Chief Executive Officer

  2. OMH Mission Statement To ensure optimal health to the people of the community, through the delivery of quality, cost efficient services, with active cooperation from physicians, staff, employers, community, and other providers.

  3. OMH Vision Statement To be the healthiest community in South Carolina as measured by physical, mental, spiritual, social, and economic factors.

  4. OMH was founded in 1937 on 150 acres donated by the Doyle family Opened in Feb 1959 with 40 beds

  5. In 1963 OMH, the building we are currently in, opened with a total of 126 beds. Two more expansions, in 1974 and 1980 have increased our capacity to 160 beds.

  6. In 1996 the Outpatient wing was opened.

  7. Oconee County has assisted the Hospital with GO (Government Obligation) Bonds for some of our expansions back in the 70’s and 80’s. The Hospital issued Industrial Revenue Bonds for our 1997 Outpatient Facility Expansion.  Hospital revenues pay back Industrial Revenue Bonds and taxpayers pay back GO bonds. Hospital revenues support all operations of Oconee Memorial Hospital other than some funds that are given by Oconee County to supplement the operations of our Emergency Medical Services.  OMH has a landlord/tenant relationship with Oconee County for the property only.
