  1. The creation of the tad-Tastic frog cycle! By Eileen White, Christabel Funk, Jennifer Wijeratne and Renee Harvey.

  2. All about our Wiki • Our activities are based on the life cycle of frogs. • The activities are based around grade 2 students acquiring some tadpoles and observing them grow from tadpoles to frogs while photographing them in order to make a stop motion video, which they can present to the class and put on their school website. • We divided the assignment up into parts so that each member of the group had the same amount of work to contribute. • We came to an agreement that because there were four of us, we would have two people working on the teacher’s resource page (Eileen and Renee) and two people working on the student’s resource page (Christabel and Jennifer). Then, we would all contribute to the other pages. • Our wiki benefits teachers and students by providing a simple project that uses technology to teach the life cycle of frogs in a fun and memorable way. It holds resources and activities to give further knowledge and takes the pressure off teachers to come up with an authentic, engaging task alone.

  3. Navigating your way around the pond!

  4. About our Wiki continued • We faced some major problems along the way, but mainly it was that our understanding of how to attempt to complete this task was not very clear. It took a while, and for it to be explained a few different ways until we fully understood all the requirements of this task. Being group-tastic…in the middle of the library floor…

  5. Eileen • Created the explanation and example of how to use movie maker.

  6. Renee • Researched how to obtain tadpoles.

  7. Christabel • Researching, explaining and finding examples of stop motion video’s.

  8. Jennifer • Finding how the activities relate to the curriculum.

  9. We found this task challenging but after a slow start we banded together to get the work done. A professional site such as this would take a lot of effort and dedication to keep it up to date and relevant to modern teachings. All in all, we have enjoyed working together on this wiki and hope you have enjoyed our presentation! That’s us.
