  2. Imagine yourself… ... in a dull work existence where you just do what you’re told … in an exciting job in which you’ve moved up the ladder

  3. All leadershipinvolvesleading change.

  4. The Project Started in 1996, collecting change leadership strategies from: discussions with people leading change worldwide leaders of change throughout history change theories

  5. What makes you mad?

  6. Why don’t you do something about it?

  7. Yes you can!… The word ‘change’ is all around us Creative (out of the box) solutions are welcomed in challenging times You are not “the establishment”

  9. So what do you needtolead a change?

  10. First….You need passion!What makes you mad?

  11. Next….You need a vision.What would the world look likeif your vision came true?

  12. Then… Take one small steptowards a small goal… Know what you want to do. You don’t have to know exactly how.

  13. Evaluate, and thendecide what step to take next… [Step by Step] [Time for Reflection] [Small Success]

  14. Example:Your vision is a world without poverty What goal can you start with? What is the first step you can take towards this goal? Celebrate your [Small Success] Take [Time for Reflection] Decide on your next step.

  19. Change is a process,not an event… knowledge – persuasion – decision…. Knowledge: just the facts ma’am Persuasion: address the feelings not the facts

Persuasion:address the feelings not the factsan example: the environment Show images Explain how it affects people – tell stories Develop relationships Build a group – a support system Create a little rebellion Make it fun Create a sense of urgency Address what is important to the other person Show that you are emotionally attached to the idea your ideas??

  23. Summary You can lead a change in the world! What makes you mad? What is your long-term vision? Create a small, short-term goal. Identify the strategy (pattern) that can get you closer to that goal. Take a small step towards that goal. Reflect on what went right and decide on your next step. Proceed Step by Step!
