  2. Basic facts about Kenya • Kenya is located in Eastern Africa, bordering the Indian Ocean, between Somalia and Tanzania.

  3. More Basic facts about Kenya • The capital city of Kenya is Nairobi. • Around 32 million people live in Kenya. • The official language is English as well as lots of other tribal languages. • The climate is mostly sunny and dry.

  4. sOme More Basic facts about Kenya • Kenya is Africa’s most popular safari destination.

  5. Even more Basic facts about Kenya • Kenya has lots of beaches along its coast. • Above is a picture of Lamu one of Kenya’s oldest towns. It was settled by the Swahili tribe 700 years ago.

  6. Tribes • There are over 70 tribes in Kenya. • Here is a picture of a member of the Swahili tribe.

  7. TRIBES • Here is a picture of a member of the Maasi tribe. • The Maasi are a nomadic people who move around a lot caring for their animals such as cattle, goats & sheep.

  8. MOUNT KENYA • Mount Kenya is Africa’s second highest mountain. • The area around it is home to rare animals, forests and spectacular lakes.
