GBK Geometry

In today’s class, we will review quadrilateral properties and engage in collaborative learning. Last night’s Homework • Your assignment was: • Write up an illustrated report of your findings from the “Triangles to Quadrilaterals” exercise. • OR, prove one or two conjectures and do a detailed, clean write-up. • Find a partner. Review each other’s work. Ask: • How complete is the work? What’s missing? • Is the work neat? Easy to read? • Are statements correct and convincing? • What’s one thing the author is doing well? • What’s one thing to improve?

Properties of Interest • Two pairs of equal opposite sides • Two pairs of equal opposite angles • Diagonals bisect each other • Diagonals are equal • Diagonals are perpendicular • Two right angles • Two equal parallel sides • What properties does a parallelogram have? • What properties guarantee a parallelogram? • If we have a parallelogram, what properties make it a rhombus? Or a rectangle?
