Explore a new contribution from JET670 observations with data from 423 shots in the 1992 JET experimental campaign. Plasma current is varied from 1.5MA to 7MA using three different heating methods: IC, LH, and NB, along with combinations ICLH and NBIC. The study aims to resolve issues related to different confinement modes observed in the data. Some data with IC heating exhibit a high HITER96L factor and are labeled PHASE = L? indicating potential different confinement modes. Additionally, data with pure LH heating are labeled PHASE = L?? due to high HITER96L factors, possibly stemming from issues with the 1st diamagnetic loop.

Global L-mode confinement data • New contribution from JET670 obs from 423 shots ( #27218 - 27968) from the 1992 JET experimental campaign. • Plasma current is varied from 1.5MA to 7MA • 3 different heating methods: IC, LH and NB plus 2 combinations: ICLH and NBIC.
Problems to be resolved • A group of data with IC heating has a high HITER96L factor and has been labelled with PHASE = L? in order to indicate that the confinement mode may be different from L-mode and probably H-mode. • A group of data with pure LH heating has been labelled PHASE = L??, because these data also show a very high HITER96L factor. This could, however, be due to problems with the 1st diamagnetic loop.
