  10. Create an Account:

  11. Determine Your Goal EXAMPLE: • My goal is to raise $4000. This will cover my travel, hotel, conference registration, and meals for Florida.

  12. Telling your story • Be personal • Supporters are more likely to donate if you include a personal story. Your story should include: • Who you are • What you’re fundraising for • What the donors money will provide you with • When the event is taking place • How this money will help you build your understanding around self advocacy

  13. Telling Your Story 2. Include a picture and/or a video of yourself • You will be more successful if your campaign has a picture of you. • You should also include a logo for the conference. • II will provide you with a copy of the conference logo (below) • Videos can make your campaign more successful. If you do not have a video of your own you could use Inclusion International’s video about self-advocacy.

  14. Identify Your Supporters 1. Develop a list of people who might support you. • Include family members, friends, co-workers, other people you know • The larger your support group, the more money you are likely to raise. 2. Get their contact information • You can reach people by email, text or facebook.

  15. Your Campaign • Contact your Supporters • Send an email to the group you identified. Ask them to support you and to share your request with other people they know • Post your campaign on your facebook page/twitter account etc. • II will repost and tweet about all campaigns we are told about.

Tell them what you will do with that extra money.

  18. 3. Celebrate Your Successful Campaign • Be Grateful • Thank your supporters for helping you reach your goal • Give Details • Share details of how much you raised, how many people supported you • Celebrate Success • Share pictures of you at the event and explain how being there has had an impact on you.
