    4. Changes 2005-2006 (continued) Class visits (126) Curriculum Leaders appointed Curriculum Team Meetings Revised Individual Learning Plans ACLS Website www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/adultandcommunitylearning Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA) introduced with training events Class visits Introduced in 05-06. Completed mainly by Partnership workers and curriculum leaders. Aim to increase the number of courses visited therefore improve communication with tutors. Curriculum Leaders appointed All the main AoLs now have CL although we do have a vacancy for Skills for Life. Role is to support tutors and manage the curriculum. CLs visit classes. Curriculum Team Meetings Meeting to bring tutors from the same AoL together to share good practice. Led by CLs. Want to develop these further in 06-07. Will be some time today for tutors to get together in their curriculum areas. Revised ILP. Developed to be used across the Service . Produced in response to feedback received about previous versions. Guidance notes for completion for tutors produced. Electronic version is available on the website although I realise there are some issues about space available in some sections. Can send people word version. Will not be changed in 2006-2007 although we would welcome feedback for improvement. ACLS Website A lot of useful information for providers and tutors. A lot of useful documents. Again feedback would be most welcome. RARPA Introduced and training events took place. Don’t worry if not yet fully familiar with RARPA as those who have not already attended training can go to workshop today.Class visits Introduced in 05-06. 5. New Documents Quality File Quality Improvement Framework Self Assessment Report Curriculum Strategy Tutor Handbook (revised) Quality File- Show copy and say will be available to look at over lunch Each provider will receive a copy of this and will contain 3 key documents connected with quality: Quality Improvement Framework Self Assessment Report Curriculum Strategy Quality Improvement Framework Brings together all aspects of quality improvement that contribute to the Self Assessment report and resulting Quality Improvement and Development Plan. Including: OTLs, class visits, learner feedback, provider feedback, staff feedback etc. Self Assessment report This is not yet finalised although a draft version will be available for the inspectors. CLs have seen the first draft and may well refer to it during some of the discussions in the curriculum time. Initial summary is that there have been improvements particularly in the areas found to be unsatisfactory last time however there are still some areas that need further development and the programme for today is intended to address some of these areas. Tutors need to be familiar with the self assessment of their own area of learning. Curriculum Strategy This has been developed by myself and CLs and identifies our current delivery in each AoL and how we want that curriculum area to be developed. Again this will be available shortly. Tutors to be aware of their own area of learning Tutor Handbook Revised version for 2006-2007. Tutors should all have received a copy (and read it). If not ask your employer as they will have received copies for everyone. If you still have a problem then let us know and we will get copy to you. Few copies available today. All these will also be available on the website. I will also notify tutors who are on the tutor email group when the SAR and CS are going on the website. 6. Future Developments 2006-2007 ACLS Course File Equality and Diversity posters Progression posters Observations of Teaching and Learning 2006-2007 ACLS Course File Introduced in 2006-2007. All courses to have ACLS Course file (or providers own equivalent.) Some paperwork was not available at class visits or OTLs last year so decided to have a folder where all essential documents can be kept. Go through each section. Providers have a supply of these so should be receiving them if not got them yet. Available to look at at lunch time Equality and Diversity Poster To be displayed at every class. To raise awareness of the issue amongst learners. Hot off the press. Available to look at at lunch. All tutors to have a copy for each class. Keep in course file Progression Poster. Again to be displayed at each class. To raise awareness that progression courses are available. OTLs Observations this year will be based on tutors rather than classes. Last year we aimed to observe 10% of classes irrespective of how many tutors. This year aiming to observe 50% of tutors therefore tutors will be observed once every 2 years (although there are a few exceptions). So if had OTL last year you will not be observed this year if everything was OK (however may still get ALI observation as well as class visit). Providers let me have a list of courses and who the tutors are so I can identify who should be OTLed. ACLS Course File Introduced in 2006-2007.
