  2. Objectives • Find the quotient of two monomials. • Simplify expressions containing negative and zero exponents.

  3. Vocabulary! • Zero Exponent: • For any nonzero number a, a0 = 1. Any nonzero number raised to the zero power is equal to 1. • Negative Exponent: • For any real number a ≠ 0 and any integer n, a-n = and = an • Order of Magnitude: • The order of magnitude of a quantity is the number rounded to the nearest power of 10.
