  2. Homophones: • A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word, but differs in meaning.

  3. Some Examples of Homophones: • to/two/too • than/then • whether/weather • ant/aunt • knight/night • rose(flower)/rose(past tense of rise) • see/sea • your/you’re • eight/ate

  4. Their/There/They’re • Their- is a possessive pronoun. It always describes a noun. • There- an adverb meaning a location. • They’re- is a contraction of they are. • From the look on ______ faces, they’re not very happy. (THEIR) • ______ is no toilet paper in the bathroom, will you toss me a roll? (THERE) • I think that ______ really nice people. (THEY’RE)

  5. Two/To/Too • Two- spelt out number 2. • To- used as a preposition before a noun, or as an infinitive before a verb. • Too- is used as a synonym of also. • There are ____ birds outside my window.
