Enhanced Nickel Tolerance in WT, tna1∆, and fur4∆ Strains through Tna1 and Fur4 Disruption

This study investigates the enhanced tolerance to nickel (Ni) conferred by the disruption of Tna1 and Fur4 transporters in various yeast strains, including wild type (WT), tna1∆, and fur4∆. Growth assessments were performed using spot assays on metal-free YPD medium and on YPD supplemented with nickel chloride (NiCl2) at a concentration of 3.5 mM. The results reveal significant differences in growth responses, highlighting the roles of Tna1 and Fur4 in metal tolerance.
