  7. Recent Developments in connection with NTA Japan Project Submission of project proposal to UNFPA for funding (with technical assistance from Andrew Mason and K.S. Seetharam) Title of project: Asia’s Dependency Transition: Intergenerational Equity, PovertyAlleviation and Public Policy Participating countries: China, India, Thailand, and the Philippines

Budget: US$471, 000 from UNFPA, NUPRI’s contribution of US$51,800 Project duration: 2005-2007 2 training courses, 4 national seminars, and 1 international conference Many positive responses from UNPFA country representatives to our earlier concept Paper. UNFPA’s final decision will be made very soon!

  9. NUPRI will be hosting an international conference on intergenerational transfers in June 2006. Those who are interested in this conference should get in touch with Andrew Mason or Hiro Ogawa.
