  1. Mark Hemstreet: Commercial and Residential Development Mark Hemstreet is a successful hotelier in Portland, Oregon, who founded and operates the Shilo Inn Suites hotel chain. Along with the development of numerous hotels throughout six western states and Texas, Mr. Hemstreet also invested in developing both commercial and apartment properties. Commercial Development In 1974, Mr. Hemstreet opened the first Shilo Inn Suites near the Portland International Airport in Oregon. At that time, he also developed the first-ever, two-story mini-warehouse and storage facility in Palm Springs, California. Residential Development For more than 45 years, Mr. Hemstreet has been instrumental in developing affordable apartment housing in the Pacific Northwest. He has developed, owned, and operated more than 900 apartment units, creating thousands of jobs and millions in tax revenue. He also developed 80 oceanfront acres known as Lincoln Shore Star Resort, a one-of-a-kind Oregon Coast master-planned community.
