  1. Golfing

  2. INTRODUCTION Golf can be a satisfying or frustrating game. One day it can be a lot of fun and the next day a lot of work. There are five million players in the United States. There is 9-18 holes a person can play. The first shot from an area called the tee. The last area where the hole is, is called the green. The area between the tee and the cup is called the fairway which is 25-60 ft. wide. The outside of the fairway, called the rough, is not groomed and a player can have a hard time getting themselves out of a situation like this.

  3. Etiquette Never stand in the line of a players shot. Be still while a player is shooting. Be sure that all players are off the green before making shots. Replace all divots, and as soon as each player is done shooting, quickly leave the green.

  4. How to get started To play the game of golf you will need a set of golf clubs, golf balls and a lot of patience. There are many varieties of clubs to choose from, and beginning players should make themselves aware of the choices available. Price ranges and quality are two very important factors to keep in mind. As a beginner you should not run out and spend a fortune on new clubs and equipment only to find out you hate the game. Borrow a friends set of clubs to begin with.

  5. Choosing The Right Club When choosing the right club you need to keep all of these things in mind. 1. The golf heads and the golf club shafts should be consistent in, make and model for all your irons. 2.The set of woods do not have to be the same brand as the set of irons. 3. Pick a putter that works for you.

  6. This is the overlap or vardon grip. Your right pinkie sits on top of your left finger. Golf Grips This is the interlock grip. The right pinkie intertwines with the left index finger. This is the 10-finger grip or the baseball grip. Here your fingers rest against each other and don’t intertwine.

  7. Stance The correct stance for golf is to stand on the balls of your feet with your feet spread shoulder width apart. You should also bend over slightly at the hip joint and keep your knees bent a little.

  8. Backswing and Follow Through For the correct golf swing point your elbow down in line with your right hip when you are at the top of your swing. This allows you to square the club with the ball evenly. After you contact the ball you should continue through your swing stepping forward with your back foot.
