What is Powder Puff • Powder Puff is a flag football game originated for females • It’s usually played in high schools and colleges across the United States and Canada • The Juniors play the Seniors • Sometimes teams will travel to rival schools • The guys dress up in drag as the cheerleaders • The females playing the game usually have matching shirts • Wear all sorts of crazy clothing

  5. Name controversy • Many woman do not like to use the term powder puff any longer • Derogatory • Trying to take the sport seriously • Powder puff was used in many other sports including BMX and the National Woman’s Football Association • This term was removed or currently is not being used

How to play • Powder puff is similar to flag football • Wear flags on hips • Defense and offense • All positions are the same • Except there is not a kicker • Fouls are distributed for tackles and unacceptable behavior • At least there isn’t a kicker at the school where I come from • Only 2 halves • As oppose to four quarters • Points are kept the same • Regular practices are scheduled

  7. The Winner • The winner gets to have bragging rights • Sometimes the bragging gets a little out of hand • Fights • Vandalism • Suspension • Expulsion • All in all the game is just to have fun and to raise a little money for the school
