  1. The Study of Carbon Sequestration in Organic Tapioca Soils: Case Study Nakornratchasrima Province By Miss EkanongFungladda: Graduate Student Department of Science Environmental

  2. Long wave infra red (heat) Short wave (light) CO2 CH4 N2O Climate change Introduction Increasing greenhouse gases; CO2, CH4, N2O Greenhouse effects Global warming H2O Atmosphere Climate change

  3. The Objective of Study To study carbon content in organic tapioca soils

  4. Hypothesis The management organic fertilizer which different to lead a carbon sequestration which different

  5. The Scope of Study 1) A carbon content in soils (organic carbon) 2) The C/N ratio in biomass (tapioca leaf) and organic fertilizer 3) The organic matter decomposition rate in organic tapioca plots

  6. The Advantage Knowing the way manage organic fertilizer which different so effect to carbon sequestration The organic farming that appropriate will help amend global warming

  7. carbon cycle

  8. Carbon Sequestration refers to the provision of long-term storage of carbon in the terrestrial biosphere, underground, or the oceans so that the buildup of carbon dioxide (the principal greenhouse gas) concentration in the atmosphere will reduce or slow. (US. Department of Energy, 2007)

  9. Tapioca(Manihot esculenta Cranz) It is a bulb vegetation that carbohydrate food source. The appropriate soil is Sandy Loam soil. The appropriate life span for harvesting depend on growing factors. Most tapioca can harvest since 8 months after cultivating. Besides it is a C3-C4 plant so that tapioca can stand arid condition for durable 5-6 months (Chairath, 1999)

  10. organic farming Agricultural production system avoid using chemical fertilizer pesticide and growth hormone of plants and animals . Organic farming habitat organic matter that curriculum from plant material, manure, legume, green manure and litters. Using nutrients from weathering of mineral including using principle of control pesticide (Ministry of Agricultural, USA, 1981)

  11. organic fertilizer

  12. Organic Matter

  13. Table 1: The organic matter rating in soils Source: Office Science for Developing Land, Land Development Department, 2004

  14. litter A quantity of all organic matter that maybe dead plant such as leaf, flower, branch and trunk or alive component such as seed, including carcass and insect that litter defamed

  15. The Study Area Tambon Maglurmai Amphur Soongnern Nakornratchasrima Province

  16. The Study Area 6 months 1 month 23 days Begining

  17. Table 2: The Component of Compost four formulars

  18. Treatment 1: Control

  19. Treatment 2: Cowdung 1 ton/rai Cowdung

  20. Treatment 3: Compost formula 4 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Cowdung+Liquid Manure without LDD2) 3 ton/rai Cowdung Tapioca Peel Liquid Manure

  21. Treatment 4: Compost formula 3 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Cowdung+Liquid Manure with LDD2) 3 ton/rai Cowdung Liquid Manure LDD 2

  22. Treatment 5: Compost formula 2 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Chicken Manure+Liquid Manure without LDD2) 3 ton/rai Liquid Manure

  23. Treatment 6: Compost formula 1 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Chicken Manure+Liquid Manure with LDD2) 3 ton/rai Liquid Manure LDD 2

  24. Treatment 7: Compost formula 3 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Cowdung+Liquid Manure with LDD2) 3 ton/rai +Cowpea 5Kg/rai Cowdung Cowpea Liquid Manure LDD 2

  25. Treatment 8: Compost formula 2 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Chicken Manure+Liquid Manure without LDD2) 3 ton/rai +Cowpea 5Kg/rai Cowpea Liquid Manure

  26. Treatment 9: Compost formula 1 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Chicken Manure+Liquid Manure with LDD2) 3 ton/rai +Cowpea 5Kg/rai Cowpea LDD 2 Liquid Manure

  27. Treatment 10: Compost formula 4 (tapioca peel+tapioca cake+ Cowdung+Liquid Manure without LDD2) 3 ton/rai+ Cowpea 5Kg/rai Cowpea Cowdung Liquid Manure

  28. The Study Area 25 m 25 m Note: Tp = Tapioca Peel Tc = Tapioca Cake ChM = Chicken Manure CM = Cowdung L = Liquid Manure without LDD 2 Lm = Liquid Manure with LDD 2

  29. Method and Procedure 1. Tripet soil samples were collected at 0-20 cm depts and from each plots 2. Measurement of chlorophyll a (SPAD value) 3. Measurement of height of organic tapioca (cm) 4. Analysis of nitrogen (%) (Methods of soil analysis, 1982)

  30. Continued 5. Analysis carbon content and organic matter in soils (Methods of soil analysis, 1982)

  31. Result: The Analysis of Soils and Plants

  32. Table 4: Organic Carbon (%), Total Nitrogen (%), Average chlorophyll a (SPAD) Height (cm) And Expected Yield (ton/rai) in Each Treatments When Organic Tapioca 8 Months

  33. Table 4: Organic Carbon (%), Total Nitrogen (%), Average chlorophyll a (SPAD) Height (cm) And Expected Yield (ton/rai) in Each Treatments When Organic Tapioca 8 Months

  34. The Expected results • Treatment 7 maybe has yield very high because it has a very height

  35. Conclusions Cowdung will be effective about height of organic tapioca more than chicken manure. Chicken manure will be effective about green colour of organic tapioca leaf more than cowdung. LDD 2 will be effective about height of organic tapioca same as cowdung.

  36. Thank you
