  1. JOHN 12:1-11

  2. This is a week of rejection, of friendship, betrayal, of love and hate. • Jesus will be offered as a sacrificial lamb. • He will bear the sins of the world.

  3. Six days before Jesus offers His life on the cross, three people give Him three tokens of love. • What were they? • Can we also offer the same tokens?

  4. Lesson 1: • Use your talents and serve while there is a chance to serve. • No service will be in vain if we did it for Christ. • v.2 – A dinner was prepared in Jesus’ honor. • Martha served.

  5. Martha was once corrected for being busy for the kingdom. • She had no time for the king. • But this correction did not discourage her. • She realigns her priorities and continues her service for the Lord.

  6. Service must be done for the glory of God. • Service must be offered with a smile and without complaining. • Service must be an expression of our love for God and others. • This token of service is love put in action.

  7. Lesson 2: • Worship is an act of offering to please God and only God. • Whatever may be said, God must be glorified. • v. 3- Mary takes the alabaster jar of nard and anoints the feet of Jesus.

  8. The house is filled with fragrance. • Worship must be offered with value. • Worship must be offered with sacrifice. • Worship must be offered with love. • The token of affection is worship expressed from the heart. • It is evident on the quality of sacrifice.

  9. Lesson 3: • There is always a risk when you witness for Christ. • Do not fear death as Jesus is the author of life.

  10. v.9- Lazarus was raised from the dead. • v. 10 – Plot to kill him. • V.11- Many believed. • Testimony for Christ can be risky. • Testimony for Christ is to give God the glory. • Testimony for Christ proves our love for God.

  11. The token of testimony glorifies God as it causes others to come to Jesus. • This happens as they see the miracle of transformation in our life.

  12. We can also offer our tokens of love to Jesus. • Love Him by our service • Love Him by our worship • Love Him through our testimony.
