  2. Brief About Independent Living Units The concept of independent living is ambiguous among senior citizens of Hobart and Tasmania. This article will discuss in brief all about such community care units, retirement villages and what constitutes independent living. Let’s start with what it actually means.

  3. What is Independent Living? Independent living communities consist of homes or apartments designed for an individual of fifty-five years of age or above. Community care Hobart homes have a simple design, which are relatively easier to manoeuvre. These homes have no extensive lawns to care for and small aspects such as handles inside the home; ensures safety of the residents. Under these living services, an individual lives alone, although not truly alone, as they live together with a community of other individuals of the same age.

Difference Between Assisted Living and Independent Living Now that we have discussed what independent living means, now let us discuss the difference between these living units and other senior homes. Independent living is unique as they are aimed at providing living environment to individuals who don’t require or only require minimal assistance. Several independent living units in Tasmania don’t even have an onsite medical staff.
