  4. Tools • Hand tools • Wrenches/Pliers/Sockets/Screwdrivers/Hammer/ File/Hacksaw/Special tools for your engine • Voltmeter and 12v test light- DVOM • Jumper wires with clips • Sharp serrated knife • Prop tools • Large 18” adjustable wrench • Oil Filter Wrench for fuel water separator

  5. Parts • Water separator filter(s) • All Fluids- Engine oil/Drive oil/ Atf/ Antifreeze/WD 40/Marine Grease/silicone spray • Waterpump Kit • Belt set • Sparkplug set • Primary wire and connectors • Ty-wraps-duct tape/Electrical Tape/Fuses • Screw assortment • Spare Prop Hardware

  6. Other Stuff! • Shop Vac- 1 gallon • Extension cord • Turkey Baster • Mirror on a stick • Assortment of corks • Clear silicone • Hoses clamps various sizes • Pieces of hose and splices

  7. “Secure the Situation” • Find safe spot if possible • Drop Anchor/Tie to Dock • Have others keep watch if necessary • Stay Calm DO WHAT IS NEEDED TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING WORSE!

  8. Safety • Know you limitations! • Fire Extinguisher accessible • Lifejackets ready or on • Keep Watch!!!!!

  9. Overheat • Check Water inlets • LET ENGINE COOL BEFORE RESTART! • Monitor temp/water flow • If possible check/replace impeller • Find all the old pieces!!!

  12. Starvation- Boggs down! Loosen Cap to check for restricted vent Check Filters-Replace as Necessary If primer bulb (Outboard) Check for kinked hose Flooding Carb(s) Disconnect fuel line run dry Reconnect –Try again Water Change filter and check every 15-30 minutes Fuel Problems

Electrical • Will not start- • Will it Crank? • Check Battery Connection(Hot?- Loose) • Just clicks -Bypass solenoid-Tap on starter • Nothing- Voltmeter reading- Bypass solenoid(Note: Key on and in neutral) • Cranks but won’t start?? • Emergency stop switch- listen for the beep • Look at tach- • Fuel pump running? • Flooded- Hold throttle wide open

  18. Electrical • Trim won’t go up or down- • Bypass solenoid or relay • Release lines and Capture Oil • Windlasswon’t come up- • Check Breakers (normally 2)
