Present Progressive – What’s happening RIGHT NOW • Uses a form of “to be” + present participle (English = –ing ending) Theyare singing. • Spanish = estar + present participle • To make a present participle, drop the end of the infinitive and add -ando (-ar verbs) or –iendo(-er/-irverbs) comprar ---> comprando comer ---> comiendo escribir ---> escribiendo
