Treasurer’s Report RESULTS FOR 2012 • The budget for 2012 projected a loss of CZK 245 000 • The number of patrons was as expected, but there was a lower-than-expected number of members. • There were savings in expenditure, the spend on the Gala dinner and Christmas party was maintained, and the membership directory was produced. Value to members was also maintained. • This has all meant that the deficit for the year was CZK 544 000 • We ended the year with a retained surplus of just under 1m CZK, and a cash position was around 1m CZK www.britishchamber.cz

  15. Treasurer’s Report BUDGET FOR 2013 • This shows a breakeven position. • The challenge is to increase members including patrons. There is no increase in membership rates planned for 2013 • The level of subsidy for the Gala Dinner and the Christmas Party will depend on the success of the membership drive. Other costs will be minimised to increase the value for money. • Marcelais full-time and there are 3.7 other staff in 2013 including Alex and Silvia. • Working groups will be supported but any of their projects must be profitable. Education and web sponsorship help this. • No bonuses for any staff are included in this budget. www.britishchamber.cz

Treasurer’s Report CONCLUSIONS • Result for 2012 was a deficit • We have reserves of 959k • CZK 1 million in the bank at the end of 2012 • Break-even budget in 2013 with increased membership drive • Support of sponsors and Patrons is very much appreciated and vital for increasing the quality of our Chamber www.britishchamber.cz
