  1. Main Title of Concept Note Sub-title of concept note Our Vision Harmony between nature and human development for the benefit of both! Photograph A description of the photograph displayed at the top of the page. Photo: Erik Hammar Title Each column starts off with one or two sentences in Lato Regular 12pt, introduction to column basically. Through protected area management, advocacy, and working hand in hand with communities Ya'axché strives to develop capacity for the wise use of land and natural resources in and around the Maya Golden Landscape (MGL) in Toledo, southern Belize (see page 4). Ya’axché is working with 8 communities in and around MGL, with a combined population of about 7 000 people. The organization functions thanks to extremely diligent and dedicated staff, directors, partners, and supporters. Most members of our staff come from local communities that buffer the protected areas we manage, while international volunteers bring additional expertise and fill non-funded positions. Currently, the organization is staffed by 24 paid and unpaid members. Title Example text. Ya'axché is working in two program areas: Community Outreach and Livelihoods (COL) and Protected Areas Management (PAM). Although these programs are managed separately, the activities are closely interlinked. Ya'axché acknowledges that community support is necessary for successful management of protected areas. At the same time, responsible and sustainable use of natural resources is necessary to ensure the long-term viability of human communities. Ya'axché also advocates at the local and national levels for community empowerment, sound legislation for sustainable use of natural resources and protected areas, and governmental support in law enforcement. Ya’axché is a strong advocate for integrated landscape management, the practice of planning how land will be used and resources will be managed in the most efficient and sustainable manner.
