  2. Genre, Form, idea, perspective • IFHY is a short docu-drama. • The short film explores idea of making “the drunken phone call” and the real emotions and scenarios that come out of the mixture of drinking and anger due to the break down of a relationship • themes of “stalking” and also the effects of lost love especially on someone who cant let go, and also holding onto the past are areas that can be explored throughout the short film.

  3. plot • The short docu-drama is going to be told through real stories that involve lost love and the drunken anger towards a relationship. • There is an over arching main story but as we find out the stories (through the interviews) we wont know the full picture • Features of the story telling: • record the stories of people and this will be a voiceover of the entire story • Flashbacks of a time when the protagonists were with their ex • Main story to be shot at night and the flash backs to be shot during the day • Different actors to portray the main protagonist (creates a universal feeling to the story)

  4. Cinematography One point perspective would be integral in portraying a state of the characters mind. One point perspective is best utilized as a close up as it offers this deep insight into what a character is feeling and places them visually, in an important light.

  5. Lighting Sodium-Vapor lighting sets the film in a realistic tone, the darken colors give out a deep sadness and a lonely tone to the film. The lighting doesn’t make the film to polished which is important to have a sense of rawness as it adds to the realism

  6. sound • In terms of sound design, the main component will be the voiceover, playing over the entire film • The voice over is to be recorded before the shooting of the film • Two ways in which the voice over can be recorded: • Within a quite room, (perhaps an echo created to the voice to make it seem as if it is being looked back on hindsight) • Within a public space (e.g. Bar or just any public area), help to create an “in the moment” atmosphere

  7. Where I need collaboration • Collaboration would be important in gathering the people for the stories but also in discussing what directions we can take with the stories, especially with adding a bit of humor towards the short • Finding an ending (crucial) or sending the short in a direction that isn't as conclusive

  8. Why this story? • The theme of love lost is such a universal feeling for people, that the story can resonate with everyone. • The universal feeling of making decisions whilst drunk which are not smart, which then lead into regrettable mistakes is quite a humorous event • This is a side of a story which is not as known but we all know about this feeling
