Work Full-time, Going to School Part-time? • Do you work all day? • If so, Wayne College offers a variety of classes to fit your busy schedule: • Evening classes Monday through Thursday at Wayne College, Wadsworth High School, Holmes County Higher Education Center, and Medina County University Center • Saturdayclasses at Wayne College • Limited Online classes

  2. Student Words of Wisdom…on Academic Advising • “If you want good advice, don’t wait till the last minute to go see your advisor. They will be too rushed to help you beyond the bare minimum. Go early when they have all the time in the world to really help you.” • “Get it in writing…and keep everything you get. Colleges are notorious for losing things. Keep your proof.” • “Be kind to the people making the advising appointments. They can make your life much easier and usually know more about the rules and regulations than anyone on campus.”

Student Words of Wisdom…on Gaining the Edge • “Instructors bend over backwards to help students who are REALLY TRYING.” • “My biggest regret is that I did not use office hours.” • “Your grade on everything you write comes down to one opinion – the instructor’s. If he / she likes you, it can be the difference between an A and a C.”

  4. Questions about your Financial Aid? • Sit down with a Financial Aid representative and discuss your situation. Simply stop by the front desk in Student Services for a walk-in appointment at the completion of today’s New Student Orientation program.

I should have started with an easier schedule and built up confidence.” • “It’s better to take fewer credits and do better than to take more credits and just get by. GPA’s are too hard to bring up!” • “A good professor can make the most boring course on campus interesting…and vice versa.” • “Having an instructor is like dating – figure out what you have in common and make the most of it.”

MAP-Works • MAP-Works is a survey tool designed to aid first-year students in their transition to college. • You will receive an individualized report which connects you to resources and staff. • You can identify strengths and weaknesses to manage your own student success. Watch for your survey in mid-September!

  15. No permit needed Pedestrians always have the right of way Short term (15 minutes or less) parking meters near the front door. Please don’t park in the grass Arrive at least 15 minutes before class – there is a space…somewhere…out there for everyone, but you may have a several minute walk from your parking space to class. Free Parking!

Akron may have the Zips…But Wayne has the Warriors! • Wayne College is a member of the Ohio Regional College Conference. • Varsity sports include men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and men’s golf. • Interested in participating?
