  3. Purpose of this document • To begin a discussion on the development of a Pentecostal Mission Movement in Iceland. • To consider the needs of the Pentecostal Church in Iceland – particularly the needs of the smaller country Churches. • To think about how as a mission movement we can support the diverse needs of each Pentecostal Church. • To raise awareness of the role of mission in the local Churches.

  4. Benefits of having a Pentecostal Mission Movement in Iceland • The development of a practical, responsive and sustainable support network across Iceland. • No one Church feels isolated. • The gifts and talents of the Church is shared across the movement.

  5. Benefits of having a Pentecostal Mission Movement in Iceland • Mission thinking becomes an everyday part of the local Church. • The development of multiple resource teams. • Develop a sense of belonging to the movement in a real, practical way.

  6. Benefits of having a Pentecostal Mission Movement in Iceland • We can develop a personalised training and support package for people willing to take up the challenge of mission. • We can help mission candidates to raise financial support for them and their families. • Provide on-going support.

  7. Benefits of having a Pentecostal Mission Movement in Iceland • A central resource point for ordering practical resources such as tracts, books, etc. Make use of bulk buying discounts. • Liaise with other mission organisations to share ideas, good practice, etc. • The development of a strong network using available technology, i.e. Facebook, Skype conferencing, Team Viewer, etc.

  8. Benefits of having resource teams • Local Church level • Local Churches would be blessed, resourced and equipped by visiting teams. • Teams would visit regularly throughout the year. • Resource teams would work with the local Church to develop a plan to bless their local community, e.g. with social action work or straight-forward evangelism.

  9. Benefits of having resource teams • Local Church level • The Movement will develop organically in response to the needs of the local Church. • The movement will develop an overview of need across Iceland and plan strategically to meet that need. • Local Churches will be networked together and able to share in and help with each other’s vision.

  10. Benefits of having resource teams • At the level of the individual • People will be encouraged to develop/use existing skills for mission. • People will belong to an organisation that will take care of them while they are on mission.

  11. Benefits of having resource teams • At the level of the individual • People will be trained and supported to develop new leadership roles/areas of service in their Church. • Be encouraged to think about mission in Iceland and globally.

  12. We can do more together than we can apart
