Pilot test • Pilot duration • 11 June 2011 – 30 June 2011 • Number of participants • 15 participants driving in Belfort/Montbeliard city both in urban and highway environments • Piloting of questionnaires • Data are automatically stored and analyzed to check that all RQs can be answered • Latency was evaluated using two techniques, parallel eCall (13.46s) and sequential eCall (6s) • Feedback, issues and solutions • Latency is neither sensitive to the vehicle speed, nor to the distance between the vehicle and the server location • Other minor issues have been solved, e.g., alerts displyed on the map, all ND have the same serial number, ND assignments, …

LFOT execution • Duration • 7th of July 2011 – 30 Dec 2011 • Number of participants • 250 participants equipped with GS40 and tablets • Data collection • Data are stored into the database • Data analysis and evaluation of users acceptance • RQ-EC1: Is user acceptance influenced by perceived usefulness of device/function? • RQ-EC2: Is user acceptance influenced by perceived trust in device/function? • RQ-EC3: Is there a change in users’ acceptance over time? • Other RQs such as, drivers age, experience, and gender may have influence on using e-Call function
Preliminary results from SDIS • SDIS are participating into the eCall testing • 50 cars are equipped by NDs • During Sept. 26 interventions, and 22 of emergency calls have been made to confirm the accidents
