Brief Review • Part of HL7-OMG Healthcare Services Specification Project (HSSP) • HL7 defines Service Functional Model (SFM) • OMG defines technical specification based on SFM • DSS functionality • Takes patient data as the input and returns patient-specific inferences as the output • Generates inferences using knowledge modules • HL7 DSS SFM adopted as DSTU in Sept 2006 cycle

  3. Project Update • OMG Request for Proposals (RFP) for DSS • Ongoing work on specification of semantic profiles • Initial focus: vaccine forecasting

OMG DSS RFP • Approved at March 2007 OMG meeting in San Diego, CA • Available at: • http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?health/2007-03-01 • Letters of Intent (LOI) for submitting a technical specification for the DSS and for providing a commercial implementation are due by September 21, 2007 • RFP submission requires OMG membership • Organization must be a Domain or Contributing member • Fee = $5K - $70K/yr, depending on annual revenue • See http://www.omg.org/be-a-member-a.htm
