What’s an Ambassador? • Represent the Valley inside the Masonic Lodges. • Serve as a Liaison between Valley & Lodge • Point of Contact • “Sell” the Valley to symbolic membership • The benefits of membership • Social Events / Activities • Expanded fellowship (larger pool of Brothers) • Opportunity to lead

  3. One-on-One Relationships

  4. Coordinator • Stay in communication with the Ambassadors • Begin an e-mail group (Google/Yahoo) Invite open communication among Ambassadors What is happening in Lodges • Point them to the valley website and the calendar • Ambassador Newsletter (via e-mail)

  5. Recruiting Ambassadors • Articles in Valley publication • Report at Valley Meetings • Visit Scottish Rite Clubs • Recommendations from Valley members

Lodge Secretaries • Alternative to Ambassadors to read Newsletter in Lodge • Mail them a letter asking for e-mail information • Follow up with a post card 45 days later Recognition •  Host semi-annual meetings/recognition dinners with the Ambassadors (perhaps regionally - convenience) the purpose is to excite them and fire them up to sell the Valley. • Explain what is hoped for and expected from the Ambassadors, instill pride and desire into the title.

  7. Job Description - Ambassadors • Stay actively in communication with Ambassador Coordinator (via e-mail group or direct e-mail) • Tell the Valley story in a tiled Lodge, at the dinners, etc. • Enthusiasm! • Tell the Valley what is happening in the Lodges, i.e. Do they need help with a degree?

Create a two way street with the symbolic Lodges • Provide materials for prospective members, petitions, Brochures, Valley Publications, Scottish Rite for the 21st Century DVD, etc. (stock Lodges) • Offer degree help or help with a memorial service • Recognize outgoing Masters AND long time secretaries, Tylers, etc. • If the Lodge is having an honor dinner, a parchment certificate from the Valley (even if the Lodge doesn’t provide one)

  9. Monthly activities report from ambassadors to Coordinator (via email group) • Promote Valley activities at every opportunity • Announce Valley Programs (know the difference between activities and programs)  • Programs include • Petition fee abatement for ministers • Petition fee abatement for servicemen • Pre-paid life membership • Scholarship Programs

  10. Tools • New DVD’s • Brochures • Pocket Petitions • Jewels

  11. Each Valley must emphasize convenience, inspiration and enjoyment in all its programs and degrees.
