Eucharist 1 • Christ’s saving presence in our midst • The Passover seder • A ritual meal as is the Eucharist meal today • Eucharist • Greek word meaning “thanksgiving” • We thank God for His Son, Jesus and celebrate Jesus’ gift of himself in the transforming ritual of bread and wine into his body and blood • We called this consecration: Transubstantiation “Come to the Banquet of love….”
