  2. Aims • To enrich our studies of World War One in Year 9 • To highlight the links across our learning • To experience Foreign Travel (France & Belgium) • To further develop our community spirit as a Year Group and ‘teamship’ skills • Remembrance in the Centenary years (2018)

  3. Departure and Return • Departure 05.30 Corsham School Wednesday 14th November • Return 20.15 p.m. Friday 16th November

  4. Day One • Tyne Cot – Allied cemetery • Passchendaele Museum

  5. Tyne Cot A few miles outside the town, just below the village of Passchendaele, lies Tyne Cot - the largest British War Cemetery in the world. There are nearly 12,000 graves here plus another 35,000 who are commemorated but who have no known grave.

  6. Passchendaele Museum • This museum tells the story of the war in the Ypres Salient with special emphasis on the Battle of Passchendaele 1917, one of the bloodiest battles of the First World War.

  18. Valid passport and valid EHIC (check expiry dates) to be placed in a clearly labelled sealed envelope and placed in the locked student deposit box in Main Reception not later than Wednesday 7th Nov

  19. European Health Insurance Cards UK residents are entitled to medical treatment, at reduced cost or sometimes free, when temporarily visiting a European Union (EU) country. Only treatment provided under the state scheme is covered. However, to obtain treatment we will each need to take a European Health Insurance Card with us.
