  6. Athletic Safety Legislation • This can in compass many areas: • Requiring schools to have AED’s and personal trained to use them. • Basic athletic training for coaches. • Requiring a medical release for retur-to-play. • Concussion injury care & mouth guard use. • Mandating Athletic Trainers.

  7. Athletic Safety Legislation • In 2007 the GAC determined that being involved in these types of bills is very important. These issues themselves can be a good one for strategic political purposes. • Example - California
