  1. LHC MSI and MSD control • MSI presently on mugefs • strong suspect for orbit variations seen in 2008 • to be powered in DC for 2009, on mugefs, with “manual” ramp down to zero current after injection • keeps current value interlocking in front end • not operationally an attractive long-term prospect • MSD presently on FGCs • No current (function) interlock at power convertor level • MSDs have DCCT providing reference to LBDS BETS, which continually checks against “beam energy” from 2 MB circuits. • Proposal for discussion • Move MSI to FGC control, and: • either add current (function) interlocking to FGCs - other families already surveyed by SW interlocks so of more general use (HW update for Steve). • or add the MSI current (1 value) into the injection BETS (HW update for Etienne).
