Language Arts Assessment/Grading • Grammar - Number Grade • Writing Grades - S = Satisfactory - P = Progressing - N = Needs Improvement • Standards - Composes Appropriate Writing - Mechanics - Organizes Information From Reference Materials - Oral Presentation - Listening Skills -Open-Ended Response

  9. Reading Assessment/Grading ● Reading Grades - S = Satisfactory - P = Progressing - N = Needs Improvement ● Reading Standards - Phonetic Skills - Comprehension Strategies - Reading Vocabulary - Comprehension Skills - Open-Ended Response

  10. Word Study • Each week, there will be ten words given to study. There will be a test given every Friday. These words are given to see if the student can truly apply the Word Study Pattern he/she has learned. • Word Study will be given as a number grade this year. Test are worth 100 points.

  19. Conduct Chart • Front of Binder • 3/week = early morning detention • Pocket Chart *If students do not follow classroom rules they must pull a strip. Strips start over each day or as needed. 1st Time: Verbal Reminder 2nd Time: Pull 1 Strip 3rd Time: Pull 2nd Strip/Conduct Chart will be written on by teacher for parent to sign 4th Time: Pull 3rd Strip/Conduct Mark-Chart will be written on by teacher for parent to sign/No Recess

  21. Blog • A weekly newsletter will be posted on my blog every Friday for the upcoming week. The newsletter will contain information about vocabulary words, test dates, and other school information.
