  3. We know what a watt is, now what is a watt hour? Or, for that matter, what is a kWh? A kilo-Watt hour! Actually, a kWh has the same units as a joule.

  5. A kWh is actually equivalent to Energy companies measure the energy your house uses in kWh.

  6. A Quick Summary A battery puts pressure on electrons in a wire to flow by providing VOLTAGE. The flow of electrons is called CURRENT, measured in COULOMBS per second. Coulombs are a measure of charge. Charges can exert force. The ability to exert force is measured as energy in JOULES. The number of joules of energy passing through a wire per second is a WATT.
