The Existing Situation • Our University was established in 1975. • It is consisted of 13 faculties with 53 departments. • We have 15.350 students, 870 full-time employees and 550 professors and assistants. • 14.050 academics graduated from the leading higher-educational institution in Republika Srpska.

  3. The Existing Situation II • The central organs of the University are mainly responsible for international and inter-university cooperation. • The responsibilities of the University central organs are also dealing with the promotion of teachers, agreements on new study groups and adoption of new curricula and syllabi. Central organs play an important role in approvals and doctoral dissertation defenses.

The Existing Situation III • Since 1996 we have made a significant number of international contacts, most of them within the frameworks of various Tempus projects. • Last September Republika Srpska adopted the new Law on Higher Education that introduces the ECTS. • Our new campus is from this semester available to teaching process and the University will become integrated from the following academic year!
