  2. Rules: 1 .Follow directions the first time they are given. 2. Raise your hand to speak. 3. Respect yourself and others. 4. Everyone MUST participate! 5. Everyone needs to have a notebook for this class. BE SMART AND LEARN

  3. Warm-up: What do these words mean in English? Respect - To be nice to each other. Participate - To help in an activity. Volunteer - A person who help other people to do something.

  4. FAMILY • A group of peoplewho are relatedtoeachother, such as a mother, a father, and theirchildren.

  5. Chinese Family • Most Chinese families are parents and 1-2 kid(s).Parents are both working, so if their children are little, they usually bring their parents to live with them to help taking care of the children while they're at work.  • Most Chinese families live in apartments, big or small... 

  6. Immediate Family Membes • IMMEDIATE Family are :- Your Parents (Mother .. Father) Brothers .. SistersYour Children (Sons .. Daughters) Your Grandparents.. and your pets (dog, cat, birds) too. 

  7. Extended Family • Extended family are the people who you do not live with or see very often. • Your extended family is your aunts, uncles and cousins.

  8. Everybody'sfamilyisdifferent. Why are families so important? Example: My family is important to me because they are always willing to help me. If I am ill/sick, they will come and visit me. They wish for me to get better. Also, they are important to me because if I am sad, they try to make me happy.

  9. Family Tree Is a drawing showing the relationships between people in several generations of a family.

  10. Family History A family tree is a good way to help children understand their culture and gain knowledge about great grandparents and other family members they may never have the opportunity to meet.
