  3. Maps What are some things that maps can show? What elements does every map need? Why do we use maps?

  4. Types of Maps Geographical -Directions, roads, topography (elevation, altitude), Political - Countries (political borders, boundaries, territory) Social - Demographics (Race/ethnicity, language, age) Other Economic - natural resources, GDP Statistics (worldmapper.org)

Sample Questions • How do you think these maps will be different twenty years from now? • What attracts people from different backgrounds to different areas of the U.S.? • Can you identify any pattern or trend that you see in one or more of these maps? • Now, come up with 3 of your own questions!
