What are pictorial depth cues?? • Pictorial Depth Cues include the following features: • -Linear Perspective: lines recede into the distance • -Interposition: Objects behind others viewed as further away. • -Texture Gradient: Gradual diminishing detail on surface as recedes into the distance. • -Relative Size: Judging the size of an object in relation to other objects, larger objects perceived as being closest (using this cue relies on our familiarity with the objects being viewed. • -Height in Visual Field: Closer to the horizon means further away.
